Words and Music by Tom Keating You’ve Got your Reasons You’ve got your reasons for needing to go People and Places, Baby I know Just give me five minutes more and you’ll see You should just stay here with me Think of the foam that gave up his memory So we could enjoy this mattress we’re on And all the geese that now fly around naked So we could stay warm in their down Then there’s the Egyptians that grew all the cotton That went into making these fancy sheets That’s just three reasons I have in a hundred You should just stay here with me You know it’s cold out there I’m thinking it might just storm Why don’t we both just lay right here where its safe and warm? I’ve got more reasons, my favorite’s nineteen But we should skip the ones in between If it takes all morning, I’ll help you see You should just stay here with me You know it’s cold out there I’m thinking it might just storm Why don’t you just lay here with me and I’ll keep you warm? I’ll count your buttons, ‘till it makes you smile You can count mine and after a while The world and its problems will all go away And you’ll be so happy you stayed You know its cold out there I’m thinking it might just storm Why don’t you just stay here with me and I’ll keep you warm?

Words and Music by Tom Keating Long Slide Down I know what’s wrong and I know what’s right I know you’re thinking I’ve given up the fight There’s whiskey in my bottle and smoke in the air And you’re talking about me like I’m not even here I had a good job that they sent overseas It was real good for profits, but not good for me I think about who has what was mine And I hope that he’s happy with a buck twenty nine chorus But I didn’t find the bottom by myself It’s been a long slide down, but I’ve had lots of help No I find the bottom by myself Bridge Life can be tough, it can drive you to your knees Hard times will come to us all The further you slide, the steeper the climb When there’s no one to catch you when you fall I had a nice house that’s now owned by the bank I signed all those papers, still don’t know who to thank I only know I got a note in the mail And I hope all those bankers will all burn in hell I know that I’ve had a roll in this too I should have known its too good to be true I’ll drink my last swallow then set down my cup Take hold of my bootstraps and pull myself up chorus I didn’t find the bottom by myself It’s a long hard climb but I’ll make it back Even if I do it by myself.

Words and Music by Tom Keating I’ll Remember When Blue lights fading on the runway now As I fly away, leave this place and memories behind Will I take a drink, yeah I think I might I Want to ride this plane into the cold blue night and see what I can find I have to just move on I’ll Have to try again But I know one thing That I’ll remember when We spent our summer by the river I love how music lights up your brown eyes I still feel kisses soft as moon light On my skin………….. Cold stars staring from a cloudless sky Seem to look right through You know they watch me cry When I think of you I don’t know if a thousand miles Will be enough to find my smile when I think of you I have to just move on Till I don’t know when But I know one thing I’ll be back again … We spent our summer by the river I love how music lights up your brown eyes I still feel kisses soft as moon light On my skin…………..

He waits for night to see the stars When they come out, he looks everywhere for any sign of things to come He walks all night Too tired to sleep The words that she said, are a song that he can’t seem to get out of his head Hold on to hope Don’t let it fade Keep it alive in your heart so you get through one more day Break When sunrise comes He turns for home Its more than a wish, could today be the day that she’ll walk back through that door Hold on to hope Don’t let it fade Keep it alive in your heart so you get through one more day

about

I started writing the songs for this album about seven years ago following a head on car crash. I broke my neck and was concussed, leaving me with a short term memory deficit. After a few months I felt like playing and writing music might help with my recovery and it did. The first song was "I wish for you" and by the time I finished it my memory was more or less back to normal. I've since had a full recovery. I can only attribute it the power of music and support of my wife and family. "I wish for you" is about her and I dedicate this album to her, the one I love.

credits

released October 19, 2014

I wrote both lyrics and music for all the songs recorded. Basic tracks were done at Parlor Records in Nashville, TN. Robbin Ruddy and Larry Sheridan do amazing work arranging and producing. Mixing and vocals were done at Stonebridge recording studio in Leesburg, VA with my friend, Stuart Martin. All vocals are mine with the exception of "I wish for you" which is sung by Tim Buppert, a singer at Parlor Records.
